News on M4 J3-12 smart motorway

The bridge has gone and the road protection equipment put down to protect the carriageway has been removed with no issues reported on the road surface. The team are now sweeping the carriageway and preparing for the next stage of reinstating the motorway safety barriers before they can reopen the road. Work is ahead of schedule and if it is possible to reopen this section of the M4 early, the team will do so.
