News on M4 J3-12 smart motorway

Recreation Ground bridge has been demolished and the road is now clear and open to traffic in both directions. The motorway was scheduled to be closed until 6am on the morning of Monday 30 September but work has been completed ahead of schedule and it has enabled the M4 to be fully reopened at 3.30am on Sunday morning 29 September – 26 and a half hours early.

The team would like to thank local residents, businesses, road users and the local highway authorities for their patience during this weekend and throughout the project.
